Peninsula English Medium School (PEMS) is a private school founded in 2001. It is registered by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Tanzania as a day school offering Nursery and Primary Education with the registration number, DS. 02/7/EA.58 (Nursery) and DS. 02/7/58 (Primary). The school motto stresses on provision of EDUCATION WHICH IS LEADING TO A SUCCESSFUL FUTURE. Indeed, the right education is the key which unlock and open up a promising future.
Our primary goal is to provide the students with the best conducive atmosphere to ensure for a safe, challenging and exciting learning through the use of English as a medium of instruction. The state curriculum (NECTA) which we use emphasize teaching and learnig methods which are relevant to the needs of the students.
We emphasize competence in reading, writing and mathematics beyond the curriculum but of cource not to the neglect of other subjects! Subjects like Science and Social Studies among others are also seriously taught. Our teachers take their role very seriously in ensuring that the students learn and acquire the knowledge and competence that is expected in each subject.
The main role for any parent/guardian is to guide, encourage and support their children's learning. The school has a Parent Committee, which is a body representing the interests of the parents to the school management board as well support the effort of the School Directors on its various areas of operations.
The mission is strongly highlighting on provision of "EDUCATION LEADING TO A SUCCESS." This is by guiding the pupils to do their best, evaluating and challenging them to pursue high academic and ethical standards in a disciplined and encouraging environment. The curriculum is carefully approached to challenge pupils to achieve their full potentials in learning. We aim therefore to distinguish ourselves from the crowd and make a difference by considering every challenge as our stepping stone to lift us higher.
We believe in education and therefore we value it as the foundation for change. We feel responsible in creating an environment which is favorable and safe for learning and teaching. We believe we are unique, competent and positive able to meet the challenges of our ever changing environment. Our vision is to build a solid foundation for every child, non to be left behind.
